Welcome to Western New England University Student Senate!

The undergraduate student government serves as the official liaison between the Student Association and the College. It furthermore attempts to involve students in recommending policy and fosters cooperative and joint decision making. The Student Senate serves as the legislative and executive branches of student governance and is a recognized forum of student opinion. The Senate also appoints representatives to sit on Administrative and Faculty Senate Committees and has as one of its major responsibilities the budgeting and administering of student activity fees to the various student organizations on campus. The Senate is comprised of a President and Vice-President, elected by the entire student body, a Secretary and Treasurer appointed by the President. Chair persons are elected for Legislative, Public Relations and Publicity Committees.  Two representatives from each class, representatives from each college,commuter and resident representatives are also elected by the student body.

 

Tuesdays 12:45 in the Senate Chambers in the Campus Center, we have a General Board meeting.  Even though the door may be closed, anyone is welcome to sit in on the meeting to see what is happening in Senate!
